dmSwitchboard MidCallServices

When taking a phone call through dmSwitchboard you can use the MidCallServices for a variety of tasks, just like a 'real' switchboard.

Call Holding: Allows you to put a call on hold and gives you a menu for other services.

Second Call: While your caller is on hold you can place a second call.

Call Transfer: If you have put your first call on hold and have established a second call, then you can transfer the caller to the second call.

Example of how it might work

Mr Big calls Smith's Services and is answered by Sid Smith. Mr Big has a technical question, so Mr Smith transfers the call to Fred Spanner, head of product development, in Glasgow.

"Hello, is that Smith's Services?"

"Yes, Sid Smith here. Good morning"

"Bertrum Big of Megacorp here. I've got a technical question about the frequency of the oscillation widget auto distributor mode"

"Ah yes, let me get one of our technical experts on the line. Please hold ..."

At this point Bertrum Big will hear some hold music.

Key PressWhat Sid HearsComments
*"MidCallMenu. Press 2 for call transfer, 3 to end call, 9 for expert menus..."Sid Smith pushed * to get the MidCallMenu. The system lists the MidCallMenu options.
2"Please supply transfer destination..."Sid Smith selected option 2, which is used to initiate call transfer. He is asked to specify where the call should be transferred to
25#"Fred Spanner, Office. Dialling."Sid Smith selected speed dial 25, which is the entry for Fred spanner's office line. The system confirms the destination of the call. Hanging up at this point would result in a "blind" transfer to Fred Spanner's office.

"Hello. Fred Spanner speaking."

"Hi Fred, Sid here. I've got Bertrum Big of Megacorp on the line. Hopefully this is their last question before they place their order. Can you help?"

"Sure, pass it over."

At this point the caller is transferred to the SecondCall.

"Fred Spanner here. Good morning Mr Big."

"Oh, good ... yes well, as you know we are keen to buy, but I just need clarification ..."

Great MidCallServices features

MidCallServices work in harmony with all the existing features of dmSwitchboard, as well as add ons such as dmCalls (our online organiser and personal phonebook).

Speed Dials There are 99 speed dials, so that you can quickly transfer calls around the team.

Voice Driven Dialing You can say the persons name that you want to transfer the call to, and the system can do the rest. MidCall services include full support for dmCalls, our intelligent voice-command driven phone directory.

FAQ

How much will it cost?

For an initial introductory period MidCallServices will be free with dmSwitchboard. 'SecondCall' calls will be charges at the dmCalls' discount rate, but after CallTransfer, the call will be charged at the standard rate.
